Richard Arden of Eaton 1851 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Arden of Eaton in the County of Leicester Farmer

First I will that all my just Debts be paid

And I give and bequeath unto my dear Wife Sarah Arden All and singular my Household Goods and Furniture Plate Linen and China live and dead Stock Hay Corn Grain and Implements of Husbandry Monies and Securities for Money personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or Kind soever the same may be subject to the payment of my just Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expences for and during the Term of her natural Life

And from and after her decease I give and bequeath the same and Every part thereof (subject as aforesaid) unto Richard Cheshire who now lives with me his Executors Administrators and Assigns To and for his and their … Use and Benefit absolutely for Ever

And I direct that an Inventory and Valuation of my said personal Estate and Effects shall be taken at my decease and signed by my said Wife and handed over to the said Richard Cheshire but that my said Wife shall not be accountable for any depreciation or loss which may occur from the Change of Stock or Wear of Goods

And I do hereby appoint my said Wife the said Sarah Arden and the said Richard Cheshire joint Executrix and Executor of this my Will

And lastly revoking all former Wills by me at any Time heretofore made I publish and declare this Sheet of Paper signed by me to be my last Will and Testament this twenty ninth day of July in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty five

This Sheet of Paper was signed by the said Richard Arden the Testator and by him published and declared as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at this request and in the presence of Each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto

Sarah Arden of the Parish of Eaton in the county of Leicester widow and Richard Cheshire of the same Parish of Eaton aforesaid the Executrix and Executor in this will named were duly sworn as usual to the truth and faithful performance thereof as that the goods chattels and credits of the deceased do not amount in value to the sum of two hundred pounds (£200) and that the deceased died on the 11th day of March 1851
