This is the last Will and Testament of me William Alderman of Stathern in the County of Leicester Cottager

I appoint my sons William Alderman and Tom Alderman Executors of this my Will

I devise all those six messuages or Tenements with the yards gardens and appurtenances thereto belonging situate and being in Stathern aforesaid and all other my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever To the uses following (that is to say)

To the use of my Wife Hannah Alderman and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life if she shall so long continue my Widow and from and after the decease or second marriage of my said Wife which shall first happen To the use of my said son Tom Alderman his heirs and assigns for ever Subject to and charged with the payment of the following Legacies (that is to say)

To my said son William Alderman the sum of sixty pounds To my daughter Jane Tilston the sum of sixty pounds and to my daughter Ann Sarah Alderman the sum of Sixty pounds

I bequeath all my personal estate to my Executors Upon trust after payment thereout of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses to permit my said Wife Hannah Alderman to have the use and enjoyment thereof during her life if she shall so long continue my Widow

And I declare that my Executors shall not be responsible for any loss or diminution thereof which may happen during the widowhood of my said Wife And from and after the decease or second marriage of my said Wife which shall first happen I direct my Executors to convert into money my said residuary personal estate and to stand possessed of the net proceeds of my residuary personal estate In trust for all my children in equal shares

I declare that the Legacies and shares of residue hereby given to my daughters shall be for their respective separate use free from marital control and so that their respective receipts shall be sufficient discharges for the same Provided always and I declare that if any child of mine shall die before the time hereinbefore appointed for the distribution of my residuary personal estate without leaving issue then living then as well the original Legacy and share of residue of every or any child so dying as also any Legacy or Legacies or share or shares accruing to him or her under this provision shall go to the others of my children in equal shares But if any child of mine shall die before the time hereinbefore appointed for the distribution of my residuary personal estate leaving a child or children then living then and in every such case the last mentioned child or children shall take (and if more than one equally between them) the Legacy and share of residue (as well original as accruing) which his her or their parent would have taken under this my Will if such parent had been living at the time appointed for the distribution of my residuary personal estate

Signed and declared by the above named Testator William Alderman as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses

Proved at Leicester of the first day of April 1885 by the Oaths of William Alderman and Tom Alderman the sons, the Executors to whom Administration was granted

The Testator William Alderman was late of Stathern in the County of Leicester Cottager and died on the twenty ninth day of November 1884 at Stathern aforesaid
