William Mason of Stathern 1848 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Mason of the Parish of Stathern in the County of Leicester Farmer

First I will that all my just Debts be paid

I Give and devise all and every my Copy hold House Land and Hereditaments situate lying and being in the Parish of Stathern aforesaid unto my Dear Wife Mary Mason To hold the same for and during the term of her natural life subject nevertheless to the Payment of any Incumbrances that may happen to be affecting the same and I Give my said Wife Mary Mason full power to Mortgage the said Copyhold House Land and Hereditaments and from and after the decease of my said Wife Mary Mason

I Give and devise the said Copyhold House, Land and Hereditaments and every part thereof subject nevertheless to the Payment of the Mortgage and other Incumbrances that may happen to be affecting the same unto all and every my Children that shall be living at the time of my decease or which my said Wife Mary Mason shall then happen to be ensient of equally to be divided between and amongst them share and share alike to each

I direct the said Copyhold House Land and Hereditaments to be sold at the time the decease of my said Wife Mary Mason if at the period my youngest Child living at that time shall have attained the full Age of twenty one years but if at the time of the Decease of my said Wife Mary Mason my youngest Child then living shall not have attained the Age of Twenty one years I then direct the said Copyhold house, Land and Hereditaments to remain unsold untill my said youngest Child then living shall have attained the said Age of Twenty one years and the Money arising from the sale of the said Copyhold Land and Hereditaments after Payment of Incumbrances affecting the same be equally divided amongst my Children share and share alike to each

Also I Give and bequeath all and singular my Household goods and furniture, Live Stock Implements, Monies Securities for Money and all other my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature and Kind soever the same may be subject to the Payment of my just Debts, funeral and Testamentary expenses unto my said Wife Mary Mason her Executors Administrators and Assigns absolutely for ever And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife Mary Mason sole Executrix of this my Will

And lastly revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made I publish and declare this Sheet of Paper signed and sealed by me to contain my Will and Testament his Second day of August in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty seven
