Richard Marriott of Hose 1769 Will

In the Name of God Amen the Eight day of May 1767

I Richard Marriott of Hose in the County of Leicester Labourer being sick and weak in Body but of perfect Mind and Memory thanks be give to God therefore Calling unto mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament that is to say

Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God that give it and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a Decent Cristian manner at the direction of my Executor nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty powers of God and as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I give demise and dispose of the same in following manner and form

Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Son Richard Marriott the Sum of five Shillings to be paid to him three months after my decease by my Executrix hereafter mentioned

I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Marriott the sum of five Shillings to be paid to him three Months after my Decease by my Executrix hereafter mentioned

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Marriott my Largest Chest standing in the Parlor and I give unto her the said Ann Marriott the sum of five Shillings to be paid to her three months after my Decease by my Executrix hereafter mentioned

I give and bequeath to my Daughter Dorothy Johnson the sum of five Shillings to be paid to her three months after my Decease by my Executrix hereafter mentioned

I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Palmer the sum of one Shilling to be paid to her three months after my Decease by my Executrix hereafter mentioned

I give and bequeath to my Dearly Beloved Wife Mary Marriott Whom I Constitute make and ordain my Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament all and singular my Goods Cattle and Chattles by her freely to be Possessed and enjoyed and I do hereby utterly disallow Revoke and Disannul all and every other former Testaments Wills Legacies and Bequests by me in any ways before Named Wills and bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament
