William Julian of Long Clawson 1706 Will and Inventory

In the Name of God Amen I William Julian of Claxton als Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Labourer being sick and Weake but of sound mind and Memory blessed be god for itt this Twenty eighth Day of December in the fourth yeare of her Majesty’s Reigne Anno Dni 1705 Doe make this my last Will

Impris I Comitt and Recommend my soul to God Almighty that Gave itt and hope through the Merritts of his son my blessed saviour to Inherit Eternall happyness and my Body to the Earth to be Decently buried att the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter named

And as for my Worldly Estate God hath bestowed upon I Dispose thereof as followeth

First I will that my Debts and funerall Charges be paid and Discharged

Item I Give and Devise to my Loveing Wife Joyce Julian All that my Messuage or tenement and three Leys of Grass ground with their and every of their appurttences Lying and being within the Liberties of Hose in the County of Leicester to hold to her for the terme of her naturall Life and after her Decease I give and Devise the same messuage and three Leys with the Appurtts unto my Eldest son Robert Julian and the heirs of his Body and for Want of such Issue I Give the same to my son William Julian and his heires forever

Item I Give to my son Robert Thirty five pounds so much thereof to be paid to My son Robert when hee hath served his Apprenticeship to Buy him A frame for the Working of Hose or Stockings if hee hath occasion for One The Rest of the said thirty five pounds to be paid him att the Age of twenty Two yeares

Item I Give to my son William Julian Thirty five pounds to be paid him att the Age of Two and Twenty yeares

Item My Mind and Will is that my Executrix shall have the Interest of the said Legacys untill they become Due for and towards the Maintenance of my two sons

And all the Rest of my Goods Chattel and Chattells I Give to my Loveing Wife Joyce Julian whome I make Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament Revokeing all former and other Wills by me heretofore made

In Witnesse whereof I have to this my Last Will sett my hand and seale the Day and Yeare first above written
