In the name of God Amen Aprill the 12th Ao Dom 1640 I Richard Tyres of Scallford in the County of Leicester Taylor beinge sickly of body but of good & perfect memory (God be praysed therefore, doe ordaine this my Last will & Testament, in manner & forme followinge That is to say

First I give & bequeave my Soule unto allmighty God my Creatour, hopeinge & verily assureinge my selfe through Gods mercy & the all sufficient merits of Jesus Christ my onely Saviour & redeemer to be partaker of Life everlastinge

And my body I give to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in Christian buriall in Church yard of Scallford aforesayd at the discretion of my Executor

& for the worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased God to indue me with I doe dispose of them I manner & forme followinge

Imprimis I give unto my daughter Anne Brawnson twelve pence & her Children ten Shillinges

Item I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Tyres one Cow & a brass=pott & a … Chest & a Blankett & a matteris & a tick bolster & a pillow 2 peices of Pewter & a Coveringe & a brasse Kandellsticke & twenty Shillinges

Item I give unto my Daughter Isabell Tyres Three Pounds ten Shillings 3 pieces of Pewter & a Bed & bedding exceptinge sheets & a brass=pott & Kandellsticke & a Saltseller & a Table

Item I give unto my Daughter Jane Tyres Foure Poundes a Matteris & a boulster which are the best & a brasspott & my Chest & 2 peices of Pewter & a Kandelstick

Item I give unto my Sonne Valantine Tyres twenty Shillings if hee come out of Ireland & if hee do not it is my will that the sayd 20s should be distributed equally amonge all the rest of my Children & a Hempen & a Hardinge sheete

Item I give unto my Sonne Martine Tyres ten Shillings & to his Sonne Ten Shillinges

Item I give & bequeave unto my Sonne William Tyres Forty Shillinges whom I doe constitute & apoynt the onely Executor of his my last will & Testament desireinge him to pay my Debts, & giveinge unto him all my worldly Goods exceptinge before excepted in the Legescys & my funerall Charges beinge first defrayed & defaulted

Item I doe apoint Thomas Howett & John Shelton to be the overseers of this my Last will & Testament giveinge to each of them sixe pence apeice

Thus revoakinge all former wills before by me made whatsoever I doe Constitute & apoint this to be my Last will & Testament
