This is the last Will and Testament of me John Rodgers of Eaton in the County of Leicester Farmer

I Give and devise unto my Grandson William Rodgers his heirs and assigns my two small Messuages or Tenements next to the Street in Eaton aforesaid with the small Garden at the end thereof as now occupied by my Son Thomas Rodgers and [blank] Thornton

I Give the following Legacies namely To my youngest Son Thomas Rodgers one hundred pounds

To my Grandson Thomas Rodgers one hundred pounds

To my Grandson William Rodgers one hundred pounds

And to my Grandson John Rodgers one hundred pounds

And I Give devise and bequeath unto my eldest Son John Rodgers all other my Messuages Closes Lands and Hereditaments in Eaton aforesaid except the two small Messuages and Garden hereinbefore given to my Grandson William Rodgers and all my money goods personal Estate and Effects whatever to hold the same unto my said Son John Rodgers his heirs executors administrators and assigns subject nevertheless to and I charge the same with the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the aforesaid Legacies which Legacies are to be paid within six calendar months after my death

I appoint my said Son John Rodgers Executor of this my Will and revoke all former Wills by me heretofore made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this nineteenth day of May One thousand eight hundred and sixty five

Signed and acknowledged by the said John Rodgers the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us both present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses

Proved at Leicester the fifth day of April 1866 by the oath of John Rodgers Son of the deceased the Sole Executor to whom Administration was granted

The Testator John Rodgers the elder was late of Eaton in the County of Leicester Farmer and died on the twenty third day of September 1865 at Eaton aforesaid
