Thomas Austin of Grimston 1783 Will

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Thomas Austin of Grimston in the County of Leicester Grazier

First I desire to be Buried in a Decent manner at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter Named and as for my Worldly Estate which hath pleased God to bless me with I Give and Dispose thereof as follows

In the first place I Give and Devise all those my two Closes of Pasture or Grounds Inclosed lying and being within the Liberties precincts and Territories of Willoughby in the County of Nottingham Unto my sister Deborah Austin Widow of my late Brother John Austin for and during the Term of her Natural Life and from and Immediately after Her Decease Then I Give and Devise the said two Closes of Pasture or Grounds Inclosed Hereditaments and Premisses Unto my Nephew Thomas Austin only Son of my said Brother John Austin and to his heirs and Assigns for ever

Also I Give and Bequeath unto my Niece Dolly Austin the Sum of One hundred pounds to be paid her when and as soon as she Attains her Age of Twenty one Years by my Executor hereinafter named

Also I Give and Bequeath unto my said Niece Dolly Austin All that my Bed Bedding and the Furniture of the Parlour now being in my Dwelling House in Grimston aforesaid to be delivered to her Immediately after my Decease by my said Executor

Also I Give and Bequeath unto my Brother Gregory Austin the Sum of Five pounds to be paid him within Twelve Months next after my Decease by my said Executor

Also I Give and Bequeath unto my Brother Valentine Austin and my Friend Thomas Lacey of Wimeswould in the said County of Leicester Grazier my two Trustees hereinafter named the Sum of five Pounds apiece as a recompence for their Care and Management in the Trust here by me reposed in them and to be paid them within Six Months next after my Decease by my said Executor

Also all the rest residue and remainer of my Household Goods other Goods Stock Cattle Chattells rights Credits ready Money and Securities of Money and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever (not hereinbefore by me Specifically Given and Bequeathed (my Debts Legacies and funeral Charges being first paid and Discharged) I Give and Bequeath the same unto my said Brother Valentine Austin and my said Friend Thomas Lacey their Executors Administrators and Assigns Upon this Special Trust and Confidence that they my said Trustees Valentine Austin and Thomas Lacey and the Survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such Survivor do and shall Immediately after my Decease take the Care and Management of my Business of a Grazier and all other my Personal Estate and with the Interest and profitts arising from my said Business and Personal Estate yearly and every year pay and apply the same unto and for the use and Benefit of my said Nephew Thomas Austin untill he Attains his Age of Twenty one years and when and as soon as he attains his said Age of Twenty one Years Then I Do Give and Bequeath the said Household Goods Stock Cattle Chattells rights Credits ready Money and Securities of Money and all other my Personal Estate not hereinbefore by me so Specifically Given and Bequeathed as aforesaid Unto my said Nephew Thomas Austin his Executors or Administrators

And Lastly I do hereby Nominate Constitute and Appoint my Nephew Thomas Austin Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making Void all other Wills by me at any time Heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Austin the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of January in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty two

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Thomas Austin the Testator as and for his Last Will and Testament Written on two sheets of Paper to the first of which he hath set his hand and the Last affixed his Seal in the presence of Us the Witnesses under Written who have at his request and in his Presence and in the presence of each other Set our hands as Witnesses to the due Execution hereof
