John Watchorn of Harby 1836 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Watchorn of Harby in the county of Leicester Cordwainer

I give and devise all those two Houses in Harby aforesaid called the Norwell Houses and the Close adjoining containing one acre and a half unto my eldest Son James Watchorn his heirs and Assigns for ever

I give and devise the house in which I reside with the home close and my Close called the Mill Close in Harby aforesaid unto my Wife Ann Watchorn during her life and after her decease I give and devise the same unto my youngest son Thomas Watchorn his heirs and Assigns for ever charged with the Payment of One Hundred Pounds to each of my three Daughters Elizabeth Freck, Ann Barlow and Sarah Carpendale to be paid to them respectively within Twelve months after the death of my Wife

I also charge the said last mentioned House home close and Mill Close with an annuity of seven Pounds per annum to my Daughter Mary during her life by half yearly Payments to commence from my Death

I give and devise unto my Daughter Mary during her life the Shop adjoining the house I live in and after her decease I give and devise the same unto my youngest Son Thomas Watchorn his heirs and Assigns for ever

Subject to the payment of my Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expences I give and bequeath all my farming stock & personal Estate & Effects unto my youngest Son Thomas Watchorn and I appoint him Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said John Watchorn the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal this seventh day of September one Thousand eight hundred and Thirty Three

Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Watchorn the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament this 7th day of Sep 1833 in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our Names as Witnesses

Let a Probate be made to Thomas Watchorn of Harby in the County of Leicester Farmer and Grazier the sole Executor named in the Will of the deceased

He having been first duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the Will as that the Testators Goods Chattels and Credits without deducting any debts due and owing by him therefrom do not amount in value to the sum of Three hundred Pounds and that the deceased died on the 8th October 1835
