This is the last Will and Testament of me Henry Shilcock of Hose in the County of Leicester Grazier as follows

I Give Devise and bequeath unto my dear and loving wife Ann Shilcock and her Assigns for and during the term of her natural Life One Annuity or Yearly sum of ten pounds of lawful money of Great Britain free and clear of all Taxes and other deductions whatsoever parliamentary or otherwise The said Annuity to be charged and chargeable on and issuing and payable out of all that my Close or Ground inclosed and premises hereinafter Devised to my Son William Shilcock and to be paid and payable by even and equal half yearly payments – that is to say – the fifth day of April and the tenth day of October in every year the first payment thereof to begin and be made on such of the said days as shall first and next happen after my decease And I give unto my said wife such and the same power of enforcing and obtaining payment of the said Annuity of ten pounds by distress and Sale from time to time as any portion thereof shall be in arrear and unpaid by the space of twenty days next over or after either of the days hereinbefore appointed for payment thereof as aforesaid as Landlords have for enforcing and obtaining payment of Rent in arrear

And Subject to the payment of the said Annuity of ten pounds to my said Wife I Give and Devise All that Close or Ground inclosed situate lying and being in Hose aforesaid called the Martlet Close and containing four Acres or thereabouts with the Appurtenances unto my Son William Shilcock his Heirs and Assigns for ever

I Give Devise and bequeath unto my said Wife Ann Shilcock and her Assigns for and during the term of her natural life One other Annuity or Yearly sum of twenty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain free and clear of all Taxes whatsoever parliamentary or otherwise The said Annuity to be charged and chargeable on and issuing and payable out of All those my two Closes or Grounds inclosed situate lying and being in the Lordship or Liberties of Hose aforesaid and Long Clawson in the County of Leicester with their Appurtenances hereinafter devised to my son Henry Shilcock and to be paid and payable half yearly in equal portions – that is to say – The fifth day of April and the tenth day of October in every year The first payment thereof to begin and be made on such of the said days as shall first and next happen after my said Wife shall refuse to reside with my son William Shilcock as is hereinafter particularly expressed And I Give unto my said wife such and the same power of enforcing and obtaining payment of the said Annuity of twenty pounds by distress and sale from time to time as any portion thereof shall be in arrear and unpaid by the space of twenty days next over or after either of the said days hereinbefore appointed for payment thereof as aforesaid and Landlords have for the enforcing and obtaining payment of Rent in arrear

And Subject to the payment of the said Annuity of twenty pounds to my said Wife I Give and Devise the said two Closes or Grounds inclosed and premises situate lying and being in the respective Lordships or Liberties of Hose and Long Clawson aforesaid called the Birtel Becks and containing together thirty four Acres or thereabouts unto my son Henry Shilcock his Heirs and Assigns for ever

I Give and Devise All that Messuage or Tenement with the Outbuildings Garden and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate standing and being in Hose aforesaid and in the tenure of John Garratt unto my said wife Ann Shilcock and her Assigns for and during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after her decease I Give and Devise the same and every part thereof unto my son Henry Shilcock his Heirs and Assigns for ever

I Give and Devise All that Messuage or Tenement Outbuilding Yard Garden Orchard and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate and being in Hose aforesaid and in the tenure of Joseph Shilcock unto my said son Henry Shilcock his Heirs and Assigns for ever

I Give and Devise All that Close or Ground inclosed situate lying and being in Hose aforesaid called the Hayside containing One Acres and a Half or thereabouts with the Appurtenances unto my Son John Shilcock his Heirs and Assigns for ever

I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Shilcock the sum of five hundred and fifty pound which I will shall be paid to her immediately after my decease by my Executors hereinafter named

I Give and bequeath unto my Brother John Shilcock of Long Clawson aforesaid and my Nephew Joseph Shilcock of Hose aforesaid Graziers their Executors Administrators and Assigns All my Household Goods other Goods Stock Cattle Chattels rights credits ready money Securities for money and all other my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever (subject to the payment of my Debts Legacies Funeral and Testamentary expences) And Also the tenant right to the farm now in my possession which I rent under Mr Robert Linney of Burton Lazars Upon trust nevertheless that they my said trustees or the survivor of them his Executors or Administrators do and shall take upon themselves and himself the management of my said farm Personal Estate and premises for the benefit of my said wife Ann Shilcock and my Son William Shilcock until my Son William Shilcock shall attain to his age of twenty one years Then and in such case I hereby direct my said Trustees or the survivor of them his Executors or Administrators to relinquish and give up the possession of my said farm together with the Stock and Cattle depasturing thereon And Also my Household Goods (except as hereafter excepted) and Personal Estate (subject as aforesaid) unto my said Son William Shilcock for his own peculiar use and benefit Provided Always and my will and meaning is that from and after my said son William shall have attained his said Age of twenty one years my said Wife shall be boarded lodged and maintained by my said Son without her paying any thing for the same so long as they consent to reside together But in case my said Wife Ann Shilcock shall refuse to continue with my said Son William Shilcock and desire to live apart from him Then and in such case it is my express Will and I do hereby give unto my said Wife such Furniture out of my Dwelling house as my Trustees shall think sufficient to furnish two rooms comfortably, and also that the said Annuity or yearly sum of twenty pounds above bequeathed to her and payable out of the two Closes devised to my said Son Henry Shilcock shall begin and commence from such time as she shall so refuse to reside with my said Son William as aforesaid and not sooner, and to be paid to her at the times and in the proportions before mentioned

And Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Brother John Shilcock and my said Nephew Joseph Shilcock joint Executors In trust of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made

Let probat be granted to John Shilcock & to Joseph Shilcock, joint executors of this will, they being sworn to the execution of it, & also made Oath that the whole personal Estate of the Testator, at the time of his decease April 5th 1811 did not amount to Two Thousand pounds
